Spartans Blitz Plymouth For Sectional Title Shot
A convincing 62-42 beat down of #8 Plymouth in the Division IV Shelby Sectional Semifinals showcased what a healthy #7 St. Peter’s squad can look like at full strength.
The Spartans were clicking at both ends of the floor, holding the Big Red and leading scorer Jacob Adams in check throughout the night. Behind Jonah Ramey’s team-high 18 points, a key player who missed 6 games earlier in the season with mono, St. Peter’s built a commanding 29-9 advantage by the half and extended their lopsided edge to 44-17 by the start of the fourth.
Adams would fill up the stat sheet for 17 points in the final frame, but finished with only 19 for the contest. Luke Henrich netted 15 Spartans points while Caleb Stewart added a dozen in the blowout victory.
St. Peter’s (14-8) will now try and beat #3 Margaretta (16-6) for the program’s fifth consecutive sectional title.
