    Mohawk vs Bucyrus

Mohawk Wins Thriller In Bucyrus

The Mohawk Warriors scored with under 25 seconds remaining spoiling the biggest win in recent memory for the Bucyrus Redmen.

Jessie Leeth got the scoring started for Mohawk (4-3) at the end of the first quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run making it 6-0 after a quarter. Leeth then extended the Warriors lead with 7 seconds remaining in the half on a 1-yard rush to put Mohawk ahead 12-0 at the break.

Bucyrus (3-4), who only had 32 yards of total offense in the first half, took advantage of a Mohawk muffed punt to get on the board in the third quarter on a Hastin Zier 9-yard run cutting the deficit to 12-7 after three. The Redmen defense then came up big with time winding down in the game stopping Mohawk on 4th and short from its 46 yard line with just under two minutes remaining.

Bucyrus then were faced with a 4th-and-19 from its 48 when Matt Anderson pulled in a 52-yard touchdown to give them the lead 13-12 with 1:08 left. The Warriors had enough time for one final drive as they found themselves inside the Bucyrus 10 yard line with under 30 seconds remaining.

Mason Danner then toped off the comeback with a 2-yard run with 22 seconds remaining giving Mohawk the 20-13 victory.

Mohawk moves up to 6th in the Division 7, Region 26 rankings and hosts 0-7 Buckeye Central in Week 8 while Bucyrus dropped to 16th in the Division 6, Region 22 rankings with the loss and travel to 4-3 Colonel Crawford on Friday.
