Tygers Grose Duo Leading Charge On The Track

It’s been said regarding track & field events, “If you have a Grose, you have a chance.”

Those are the words of Mansfield Senior head track coach Tyree Shine who happens to have a pair of Grose siblings leading the squad on both the boy’s and girl’s side of the team.

The Tygers track & field unit doesn’t have the same type of firepower the program tends to produce this season but they do have 1-2 punch in Alaya and Angelo Grose that are capable of picking up the slack.

Older sister Alaya is a decorated senior sprinter and hurdler this year that bypassed her final season of prep basketball to focus on indoor track and will be competing on scholarship at Ohio University in the future. Younger brother Angelo is just a sophomore but has already shattered meet records this season in the long jump and consistently contends for gold in the high jump, sprints, and hurdles.

Mansfield Senior will be competing at the Marion Night Invitational on Friday against more than 20 teams where the Grose duo will have to shine brightly to get the a spot on the podium.Tygers
