Summer Football at Arlin Field
Tygers Back In Action
June 11, 2020
Summer conditioning is in full swing for 2019 Div 3 state finalist Mansfield Senior who is back to training under the new social distancing guidelines.
The team is focused on strength, conditioning and agility since the use of footballs is extremely limited, which is likely a good thing for some athletes who may not of had access to a weight room during the stay at home order. The Tygers will have to replace a tremendous amount of talent and depth at just about every position as roster slots have become available with the departure of multiple All-Ohioans to graduation.
There appears to be plenty of options to fill those roles, with an exceptional incoming freshmen class expecting to compete for a few spots. For now, there is a clear focus on improving while staying as safe as possible at Arlin Field. Coaches are all wearing masks and sanitizing often with trainers present while working with small groups consisting of no more than nine athletes at a time.
Keep an eye on team chemistry for a young Senior High squad that won't have a chance to practice as a full unit until Phase 2 of the established 3 Phase safety plan. Will they be able to mesh in time for a run back to state in 2020?
