Tygers Clap Madison 68-39

The cross-city rivalry between Madison and Mansfield Senior would see the Tygers earn a wire to wire victory, battering the Rams 68-39 inside Madison Jr. High School.

Senior High scored less than five seconds into the contest, building a commanding 22-6 advantage after the first quarter of play. An 11-3 Madison run would trim the deficit down to six in the second, but the gain green went into the half trailing 35-23.

Led by Roger Merrell III, who dropped a game-high 22 points on 7-10 shooting, the Tygers ran away with the game in the third by outscoring the Rams 24-5 in the frame. Mansfield would then coast to a 29-point victory, ending a 2-game slide with the rivalry win.

Joining Merrell in double-figures was Shad Creamer who finished with 13 points on 6-10 FG's, while Davin Brown added 7, Cam Todd 6 and four Senior High players chipped in with 4 each. The Rams were led by Levi Zehner's 9 pts, with Jayondrae Jones scoring 7 and Isaac Brooks 5.

The Rams dip to 3-10 with their 4th-straight loss while Mansfield Senior gets to .500 at 4-4.
