Arrows Pull Away Late Over Toledo Start For Sectional Crown

ASHLAND --- The Ashland Arrows continue its strong season knocking off Toledo Start 55-43 in a Division 1 Sectional Final.

It was tough for both teams to score out of the gate as Luke Denbow seemed human for the first time in a while not shooting particularly well. As for #8 Toledo Start they would be the first to find their footing on offence jumping out to a quick first quarter lead 15-10. The lead wouldn't last long, however, as #6 Ashland began mounting a comeback and sent things into the halftime break 23-21 in favor of the Arrows with a balanced attack.

The third was a closely contested quarter as both teams traded baskets. Denbow could not be contained for a whole 32 minutes as he started heating up to give the Arrows a cushon, but the Trojans kept it close and were right on the heels of Ashland heading into the final period of action trailing only by 3 at 36-33.

Denbow then did what he does best and took over the 4th scoring a couple of key and-ones down the stretch while also dishing the ball out to his teammates when they were open.

Start was desperate for points and subsequently went ice cold from three at the worst time possible allowing the Arrows to pull away for the Sectional crown and advance to next week's District Semifinal where they will face #4 Sylvania Northview on Thursday at 5:30.
