South Takes All-Star Classic,
Jakubick Gets MVP

The 40th annual All-Star Classic was a highly competitive contest throughout the entire 40 minutes of action as the top high school senior basketball players from around the area went toe to toe for the final time at the prep level. The South All-Stars would pull away in the final minute to secure a 104-99 victory and getting the win was the main point of emphasis for South coach Joe Jakubick all week to his team.

 

St Peter’s guard Jared Jakubick would be named MVP with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists while his Spartans backcourt mate Elijah Cobb was also in the MVP mix scoring 19 points on 9-14 FG’s and grabbing 7 boards. Other top contributors for the South were Northmor’s Brock Pletcher who finished with 11 pts & 8 rebs, Colonel Crawford’s Harley Shaum with10 pts & 5 rebs and Logan Jones with 6 pts & 10 rebs.

 

The North All-Stars received 18 pts each from Mansfield Senior’s BJ Patrick and Northmor’s Meechie Johnson. Chance Barnett of Clear Fork added 16 pts & 6 rebs, Madison’s Kyle Jackson had 9 & 7 and both Max Loy of Buckeye Central and Lexington’s Bryant Givand chipped-in with 8 pts each.
