MARION -- Shelby was back in MOAC action vs. the Marion Harding Presidents and while it was a chilly night outside, both offenses came out of the gate hot in the first half. Both teams enjoyed excellent shooting performances through two quarters with conference-leading scorer T.J. Pugh putting up 11 of his game-high 16 in the opening half.

 

The Presidents (10-6, 6-5) came out of the locker rooms a step slow and the Whippets took full advantage, going on a 15-0 run to gain total control. Shelby was able to just ride their third-quarter performance all the way to the final horn with Cody Lantz and Andre Hill each adding 14 points, and Jeremy Holloway scoring a dozen. There was a slight glimmer of hope for a comeback from the Presidents who got 14 pts from Tesean Jefferson, but it would prove futile as Shelby cruised to 8-0 in league play, 14-2 overall with a 69-53 road victory.
