ASHLAND -- A great battle between legendary coaches Joe Balogh and Steve Gray would see #3 Norwalk survive a late rally by #2 Ontario for a

66-62 overtime victory in the D2 Ashland District semifinals.

A tightly contested game throughout would see the Warriors take a slim 14-13 edge into the second before creating a little separation at 24-17 by the break. The Truckers struggled to find quality offensive looks at the bucket with Ontario pressuring on the perimeter, giving the Warriors a 17-12 rebounding advantage entering the second half.

The third quarter is where Norwalk made their move, outscoring Ontario

23-11 in the frame and would build a six-point cushion by the closing minutes of the fourth before Griffin Shaver finally came to life. Held scoreless for most of the game, Shaver would connect on a pair of free throws to tie the game at 54-54, forcing overtime, then hit three straight jumpers to keep pace.

In the extra session, Norwalk would score first to gain the lead and never gave it back as the Truckers closed out a victory, advancing to face #1 Shelby for the district championship.
