Shelby Pulls Away From Lexington 69-57

The Shelby Whippets are off to a 2-0 start with a monster 69-57 victory over Lexington.

It would be the Minutemen (1-1) who would build an early lead, however, holding a 20-16 advantage after the 1st quarter and maintained their 4-point edge at the break, leading 35-31. Cade Stover’s 20 points and 9 rebounds helped pace the Lexington attack, receiving 17 pts from Ben Vore and 8 by Josh Aiello.

Shelby then caught a wave of momentum in the third quarter and rode it to the tune of a 38-22 second-half performance. Sophomore T.J. Pugh led the squad with 15 pts and 7 rebs, while Hunter Hoffman added 14 and 6 rebs, and Cody Lantz chipped-in with a dozen off the bench.
