WILLARD -- State-ranked Buckeye Central handled Northern 10 Conference rival Seneca East, 46-33, claiming the Division IV Willard District championship.

 

Buckeye Central came out of the gates defensively not giving up anything easy as Seneca East’s star guard Jessica Bowerman was held to only 6 points all night long. The Tigers (19-6) shot an abysmal 25% from the field as the Buckettes would own a 9 point advantage at the end of the 2nd frame 25-16.

 

Buckeye Central (23-2) received a game-best 18 points from Emily Siesel, the only double digits scorer for a Buckettes team that relied heavily on their defense in this game. Seneca East would go on a run in the fourth quarter to make things interesting, but it wouldn’t be enough to get within striking distance, as Buckeye Central closed out the victory for a spot in Regionals.
