Sandusky vs Mansfield Senior

Sandusky Out-Guns Tygers In District Semi's

Fourth-seeded Sandusky received incredible performances from their perimeter trio of Tahj Staveskie (17 pts), Dylon Jones (17 pts) and Keith Williams (15 pts) in a 56-49 victory over Mansfield Senior for a spot in the Division II Madison District Championship game.

The Blue Streaks (17-8) started the game hot with a 7-0 spurt and built a sizeable cushion with a 17-10 3rd quarter run to hold off a late Tygers comeback. Da'Quan Hilory paced Mansfield with a game-high 20 pts with BJ Patrick adding a dozen in his final game wearing a Tygers uniform. First-year head coach Marquis Sykes was pleased with the improvement of his squad that won just 6 games a season ago, stating that "Tyger basketball is back" after finishing the season at 16-8.

Sandusky will next face #3 Lexington for the third consecutive year to decide a district champion on Saturday at 2 pm.
