Colts Rally To Sink River Valley
It took a late fourth quarter rally to get the job done, but the Clear Fork Colts would stampede past River Valley for a 69-63 at the Colt Corral.
The game was tight throughout with Clear Fork holding a slim 18-17 advantage heading into the second quarter where the Colts outscored the Vikings 17-11 for a 35-28 halftime lead. River Valley started to chip away at the deficit late in the third by capitalizing on turnovers, trimming Clear Fork's edge to 51-47 as the contest approached the final frame.
The Vikings buried a pair of threes in the fourth as they battled for the lead until the final minutes where clutch free throw shooting would prove to be the difference. The Colts finished a perfect 15-15 from the charity stripe in the contest, including 10 made FT's in the fourth to ice the victory.
Brennan South and Jared Scott each poured in 16 points to lead Clear Fork offensively with Brady Tedrow adding 14 and Ethan Delaney 11. The Colts improve to 7-8, 3-4 and will next host Galion.
River Valley got a game-high 17 pts from Dylan Johnson while Ethan Bill added a dozen and Ben Mayse had 10. The Vikings are now 8-5, 4-4 with losses in 5 of their last 9 and next face Ontario at home.
