MOUNT GILEAD --- The Ridgemont Golden Gophers withstood a hot first half shooting performance by the Mount Gilead Indians to pull out the 75-60 victory on the road.

The Indians (2-5) couldn't miss in the first 16 minutes putting up 22 points in the first and second quarters, but Ridgemont (6-2) stayed within striking distance at 44-38 thanks to a big half by Landon Newland.

​

The Golden Gophers then picked things up in the second half outscoring Mount Gilead 37-16 to pull away for the win.

​

Both teams had four players in double figures as Newland led the Gophers and all scorers with 26 points and was followed by Jayden Streets (19 points), Mason Stuck (14 points) and Grant Reppart (10 points).

​

The Indians were led by Matthew Bland's 18 points and was followed by Jackson Huffer (16 points), Elijah Chafin (11 points) and Paul Butterman (10 points).
