Rams Hand Shelby 1st Loss 76-66
Upper Sandusky kept their winning streak rolling with a 76-66 victory at Shelby, handing the Whippets their 1st loss of the season on their home court.
The Rams seized control of the contest early by outscoring Shelby 23-14 in the opening frame as Evan Young and Mason Vent combined for 20 Upper Sandusky points. Led by TJ Pugh’s game-high 26 points, the Whippets would start to chip away at the deficit with a 14-12 advantage in the second and 21-17 margin in the third.
A flurry of free throws down the stretch would then lock up a Rams win as they connected on 12 of 14 attempts from the line in the final quarter to help secure their 7th consecutive victory.
Vent finished the night with 24 pts with Young adding 22 and Cam McCreary scored 16 for Upper Sandusky who improved to 7-1 on the campaign. Cody Lantz and Jonny Devito each dropped 14 Shelby points to go along with Pugh’s monster night ads the Whippets dip to 6-1.
