Kenton Wards Off Ontario 32-20

KENTON -- Ontario rallied back after falling into an early hole at Kenton but the Wildcats fended off the Warriors for a 32-20 win at Robinson Field to advance in the Division IV Region 14 playoffs.

The high-powered Kenton (4-3) air attack was explosive for most of the first half, building a 26-7 halftime cushion with Jacob Eversole producing three scores with a 1-yard touchdown run and TD grabs of 68 & 35 yards. In the third quarter, the Warriors (5-3) turned up the heat with big plays of their own, with Ethan Snyder hooking up with Griffin Shaver on a 52-yard scoring strike before getting loose for a 73-yard TD run that trimmed the deficit to 6-points late in the third.

A game Ontario defense would put the road Warriors in a position to win the game down the stretch but costly turnovers would end their chances with Snyder accounting for five giveaways for the night. Jayden Cornell iced a Wildcats win with a 7-yard TD catch on 4th down in the closing minutes to punch their ticket into the quarterfinals for a date with #1 Bellevue (7-0).
