Clear Fork Smothers Ontario 7-1

BELLVILLE----Clear Fork Lady Colts were set to take on MOAC rival Ontario to see if they could remain undefeated in league play and that they did with a big 7-1 win over the Warriors. Ontario got out to a nice start with a big solo home run from Taylor Mullins to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. However nothing after that amounted for Ontario. Clear Fork would respond with a run of their own in the next inning off of an error that would send Courtney Palmer into tie things up at 1 a piece.

The Colts would continue to add runs each inning as they got 5 in the bottom of the 2nd inning 2 came from a 2 run homer from Hallie Gottfried, and a few errors from Ontario defense led to the Colts now leading 6-1.

Defense was a huge key in the win today as Clear Fork only had a total of 4 hits on offense but still found a way to get runners in key positions. Trinity Cook would get in the scoring column again for the Colts in the bottom of the 4th with a pass ball opportunity making it 7-1 in favor of the Lady Colts

Clear Fork would eventually go on to win 7-1 and remain undefeated in MOAC play. Ontario would fall to 7-8 and are still on a 6 game losing skid.
