CENTERBURG -- The Centerburg Trojans opened up the 2020-21 season on a high note knocking off the Northmor Golden Knights 53-38.

The Trojans (1-0) jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as senior guard Carter Jones scored the games’ first four points to reach the 1,000 point mark for his career. He finished the game with 12 points to lead the team.

Centerburg led 28-15 at the half and built its lead to over 20 in the third quarter, but Northmor (0-3) started on a comeback led by Graesin Cass, who finished with a game-high 18 points to cut the game to 12.

The Trojans were able to stop the late surge, however, to pull out the 15 point victory.
