NORTH BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP ---  The North Union Wildcats outlasted the Northmor Golden Knights 48-39 to open up 2021.

 

Northmor (2-7) stuck with the Wildcats (6-1)trailing by three after one quarter. The Golden Knights then trailed by four with the ball with less than a minute remaining in the half, but couldn’t convert leading to a North Union bucket just before the buzzer to extend its lead to eight at the break at 29-21.

 

The Golden Knights cut the lead down to four again in the third, but another Wildcat run extended its lead to double digits where it would remain until the games’ final seconds.

 

North Union was led by Zach Vernon’s game high 19 points. Preston Crabtree also scored in double figures for the Wildcats with 14 points.

 

The Golden Knights were led by Preston Harbolt’s 13 points. Graesin Cass followed with 9 points while Kooper keen scored 8 points.
