Mansfield Wins 7th Grade OCC Football Title
The 7th grade Mansfield Tygers impressed as they pulled away from the Madison Rams
24-14 during the OCC Championship game on Tuesday night.
The game was back-and-forth with Tygers QB Nathan Dismuke rushing for the first score of the game and RB Jakari Favors adding the 2-point conversion for an 8-0 advantage. Madison would take a 14-8 lead into the half, though, scoring on a rushing touchdown and pick-six just before the break.
Mansfield's defense was fierce in the second half, keeping the Rams off the board as Dismuke completed a long TD pass to Isaiah Darson to claim the lead and rushed for another to seal the victory. Dismuke would account for all 3 Tyger TD's (2 Rushing, 1 Pass), receiving praise from both head coaches for his performance after the contest.
The Tygers finish the season as undefeated league champions, handing their cross-city rivals their only OCC loss of the year.
