NORTH BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP -- An exciting seesaw contest for the D4 Sectional crown at Northmor saw the Lady Knights rally for an 8-7 victory over Madison Plains to advance.

 

The 12th-seeded Lady Eagles applied some serious pressure early in the game, plating three runs in the opening inning with Hill and Long supplying RBI. The Knights would chip away at the deficit with a pair of runs in the second before later tying things up at 4-4 in the fourth with a 2-run bomb from Maddie Hoverland.

 

After falling behind for the first time in the contest at 5-4 in the fifth, Madison Plains responded with a monster 2-run homer by J. McPherson, and extended their advantage to 7-5 with an RBI double from S. Wall. Sixth-seeded Northmor would answer the bell in their offensive half of the frame, though, receiving a 2-RBI triple from Emily Zeger to set the stage for Brooke Kissling’s game-winning RBI double.

 

The Lady Knights will next host #11 Fisher Catholic on May 18 @ 5 pm in the District Semifinals.
