Lexington Runs Over Madison To Say In Playoff Hunt

An explosive first half ground attack propelled Lexington over Madison in a 42-16 beatdown of the Rams.

Rushing for over 300 yards in the first half alone, the Minutemen stormed to a 42-0 advantage before the halftime break. Cade Stover scored a pair of touchdowns on just 8 carries, finishing with 141 yds in the opening half while Alex Green went for 155 yds and 2 TD’s on just 4 carries in the stanza.

Though most of it came after the contest had been decided, Madison sophomore RB Miles Bond would run for a game-best 292 yds and 2 TD’s on 22 carries, ripping off scores of 79 and 58 yards.

Lexington (5-4) will look to secure a playoff bid when they host Canton South (2-7) in their regular season finale while the Rams (1-8) will take on cross-city rival Mansfield Senior (4-5) at Startek Stadium.
