Minutemen Blank Granville Into Regional Championship

LEXINGTON -- The defending Region 6 champions will have the opportunity to defend their crown after Lexington knocked off Granville 3-0 in the Regional Semifinals to set up a championship rematch with Lima Shawnee.

The state-ranked #7 Minutemen (17-3-0) took the lead on a great goal from All-American Ryan Parker who made an incredible run in the closing seconds of the first half to set up Lucas Starling for a monster goal that gave Lexington a 2-0 advantage at the half. Teddy Togliatti would round out the scoring with a PK goal set up by a Blue Aces (11-4-5) handball before the match got chippy over the last 15 minutes that saw numerous yellow cards and a player ejection.

Watch the entire match with commentary by Brian Skowronski and Jesse Rider from the Lexington Soccer Complex that includes interviews with co-Player of the Game winners Parker and Togliatti.
