Lady Flames Win At Temple Christian
To Kick Off New Season
Mansfield Christian kicked off the regular season with a 52-33 victory at Temple Christian with a freshman leading the way.
In her first career high school game, Alexis Rippel dropped a double-double for the Lady Flames with 14 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 80% from the field. Junior Elle Schmitz added 10 points to go along with a number of steals and assists in her first game since being moved to shooting guard.
Bri Keib, a transfer to MC from Maine also filled up the stat sheet with a double-double of her own, scoring ten points to go along with 11 rebounds as the Lady Flames built a 10-2 advantage through one quarter of play.
Led by Jenna Wolford's team-best 14, the Crusaders would battle back to within 19-13 by the break with a strong second quarter, and remained within striking distance at 31-22 entering the final frame. Both teams would then score 11 points in the fourth, as MC secured the opening night win.
