West Holmes Scores 35 Unanswered To Beat Ashland

By Karson Kennedy & Brian Skowronski

A Knights tale of two halves saw Ashland get off to a hot start before West Holmes completely flipped the script in a 35-14 win to close out the regular season.

The Arrows entered the game undefeated and looked as though they would head into postseason action at 6-0 as they built a 14-0 halftime cushion with a pair of TD's from Jonathan Metzger. Then everything changed in the second half where the Knights ripped-off 35 unanswered points to steal the show.

Led by senior quarterback Peyton McKinney on his 18th birthday, who accounted for 355 total yards and all 5 West Holmes TD's, the Knights offense went berzerk over the final two frames while stifling the Arrows air attack. West Holmes outgained Ashland 355-252 in total yardage, handing the Arrows their first loss of the season while getting to 4-2 as they enter the playoffs.
