INDIANS SHIP TREVOR BAUER TO REDS
IN EXCHANGE FOR OF YASIEL PUIG
The Cleveland Indians have sent right-hander Trevor Bauer to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for outfielders Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes in a 3-team deal that included the Padres.
Cleveland also received left-hander Logan Allen and minor league infielder Victor Nova from San Diego, along with pitching prospect Scott Moss from the Reds.
The Indians are in the thick of a playoff chase, currently 3-games behind Minnesota in the AL Central standings with a 2.5 game cushion in the wild card chase as of the final day of July.
Puig and Reyes supply the Tribe with an offensive upgrade in the outfield with the two combining for 49 home runs so far this season, 21 more than all Cleveland's corner outfielders combined in 2019. Reyes has 27 dingers to go along with 46 RBI and a .255 avg, while Puig is hitting .252 with 22 homers and 61 RBI.
Bauer was 9-8 with a 3.79 ERA and 185 strikeouts for the Indians before being dealt to the Reds.
