The Hillsdale Falcons are in the Final Four again with their win against Monroeville in the Division IV Akron Regional Championship game.

 

The defending state champs would soar in the first inning to a 3 run lead, highlighted by a two-run single by Payton Ficks. The next 3 innings would go scoreless for both teams.

 

The fifth inning proved to seal the Final Four berth for the Lady Falcons with two runners in scoring position, Hillsdale capitalized on back-to-back wild pitches by Carley Helmstetter to score both runs.

 

This was the first regional title game for Monroeville who finished its season at 23-5 with its best tournament finish in program history.

 

Hillsdale (20-6) now advances to face Mechanicsburg on May, 31st at Akron Firestone Stadium at 5:30pm for a spot in the D4 State Title Game.
