#2 Hiland K.O. East Knox 8-0 In Regionals

• The Hiland Hawks are moving on to the D4 Regional Final at Lancaster with an 8-0 victory over East Knox behind a furious start from the plate and quality start on the mound.

• Senior lefty Casey Lowe kept the Bulldogs (15-12) off-balance at the plate the entire game, tossing 7 innings of scoreless ball while allowing 3 hits, 0 walks and struck out 6 batters. The state #2 Hawks (27-4) offense was equally as dominant in the first three innings, producing most of their runs in the early portion of the contest.

• Hiland took a 2-0 advantage into the second inning with Isaiah Miller slugging the first of his two RBI singles in the game before the Hawks added another score in the bottom of the frame. Isaak Yoder would then deliver a huge 2-run homer to left during a 4-run third inning for Hiland, that seemingly put the game out of reach at 7-0.

• Sam Printz would replace starter Bryar Householder in the fourth and would not allow a single base runner while striking out a pair of Hawks hitters over the last three frames, but the damage was already done. Hiland would close out an impressive shutout victory to move on for a date against Lucasville Valley (19-11) for a spot in the State Final Four.
