SUNBURY -- The state golf championships didn't finish up as Galion would have liked on the challenging Ohio State Scarlet Course, but the Tigers would end the weekend at 7th overall with a combined two-day score of 675.

Matty McMullen had the best finish for Galion with a 160, placing him 14th overall as an individual while Spencer Keller came in 44th with a two-day total of 171. Head coach Bryce Lehman noted how difficult the back-nine played for his squad, with a brutal stretch between the 10th-12th creating many challenges for the Tigers on both days.

For Galion senior golfers, this was their fourth consecutive trip to the state tournament with four straight sectional and district tournament titles. They also leave a legacy in the MOAC with an amazing streak of 56-consecutive wins in league play.
