Fredericktown evened the score with rival Centerburg by edging the Trojans 59-50 as the Freddies tied for the top spot in the KMAC with a huge win on their home floor.

 

The Freddies (19-1) took control of the contest from the opening tip, building a 16-9 advantage by the end of the 1st quarter and leading by as many as 16 in the opening half. The Trojans (14-3) had an opportunity to clinch their second straight KMAC championship with a victory, but fell behind 31-22 by the halftime break and remained in a 41-33 hole entering the final frame.

 

With Carter Jones filling it up for a 23-point double-double, Centerburg would trim the deficit down to single-digits but could never get over the hump and take the lead. Player of the Game, Fredericktown senior guard Caleb Sheriff, would also put up 23 points to help the Freddies close out a mammoth league victory.
