GALION --- The Elida Bulldogs got off to a strong start and held off the Galion Tigers 8-6 in a D2 Sectional Final.

 

The #5 Bulldogs plated two in the first and second innings while the #4 Tigers countered with a two-spot in the bottom of the first. Elida then extended its lead in the fourth inning with three runs and added another insurance run in the sixth.

 

Galion would not go away easily scoring once in the fourth and twice in the fifth. They then cut the lead to 8-6 in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn't get the tying run to the plate.

 

The Bulldogs advance to the Bluffton District Semifinal where it will get a rematch with top-seeded and conference rival Lima Shawnee.
