East Knox Football: Making Howard History

The East Knox football team had a pretty good idea that the 2019 season could be something special, but even the Bulldogs players, coaches and fans didn't picture the dream-like run that has unfolded in Howard.

For the first time in the history of the school, East Knox is preparing the Final Four after pulling out back-to-back double-digit comebacks in the second half of their Regional semifinal and championship games. The Bulldogs did so after surviving a last second field goal miss in their playoff opener, to remain undefeated at 13-0 on their magical season.

The community and surrounding areas have certainly taken notice of the team's amazing run to the State Semifinals, as yard signs and banners fill the town as conference opponents fill the bleachers each week of the postseason to support Bulldog nation on their journey.

The next test for East Knox may be their toughest yet, though, with fellow unbeaten New Middletown Springfield standing in their way of a Division 6 State Championship berth. The Bulldogs will take the field at Orrville Red Rider Stadium at 7 pm on Friday with a chance to continue their historic season as a small town with big dreams.
