Crawford Wins 9th Straight Sectional
Colonel Crawford extended their incredible streak of sectional championship seasons, claiming their 9th straight championship with a dominating 45-27 victory over Elmwood at Hopewell-Louden High School.
The 3rd-seeded Eagles (21-3) set the tone from the jump on the defensive end of the floor, holding the Royals (11-13) to just five points in the opening half as they built a commanding 20-5 lead. Balanced scoring kept Crawford engaged on the offensive end as well where six Eagles scored at least four points.
Elmwood was more effective in the second half once Crawford took their foot off the gas, entering the fourth quarter trailing 32-14 before the Eagles cruised into Districts with a lopsided victory.
Jordan Fenner led Crawford offensively with 12 points followed by Gavin Feichtner with 9, Chase Walked scored 8 and Mason Studer added 7 points. Josiah Childress was the Royals top scoring threat with 8 pts, while Daniel Bick added 6 and both Nick Weiss and Terrel Lawson post 4 points each.
Colonel Crawford now advances to face #1 Willard (21-2) in the Norwalk District Semifinals.
