MANSFIELD -- The Crestview Cougars took a trip to The Furnace to take on the Mansfield Christian Flames and it was a game of offenses where both teams came out firing at will from anywhere on the court which led to a highlight contested 67-58 Cougars victory.

The 1st quarter ended in a buzzer-beating triple by the Flames, with the downtown production continuing into the second frame. This time it would be Crestview's Evan Gibbs putting home a three just before the halftime horn which sent the Cougars in for the break up three points at 31-29.

Both teams picked up right where they left off coming out of the locker rooms scoring at will. The quick and elusive Amare Davis kept Mansfield Christian in the ball game after three frames, but the Cougars did push the lead to 8 going into the final period. The fourth is really where Crestview broke things open by pushing their lead to 11 before a couple of and-ones for the Flames brought them back within striking distance.

Mansfield Christian's last push was too little too late as free clutch free throws from Heath Kash and Koby Roman sealed the game in favor of Crestview. Owen Barker led the Cougars in scoring with 18 total points.
