BUCYRUS --- The #3 ranked Colonel Crawford Eagles remained unbeaten edging rival Wynford 3-1.

 

The Eagles (14-0, 10-0 N-10) scored three times in the top of the first with two out after an error extended the inning.

 

From there, starter Cade Hamilton kept the Royals (11-6, 8-2 N-10) on its heels allowing only five hits in a complete-game effort. Wynford did have a chance to get on the board in the fifth on a single to right fielder Caleb Rohr, but he threw a perfect ball home to Brandon Britt, who was able to tag the runner out before crossing the plate.

 

The Royals would break onto the scoreboard in the sixth scoring with two out to cut its deficit to 3-1 and in the seventh put the tying run at the plate with one out in Spencer Miller, who sent a deep drive over the fence in left, but it tailed just foul at the last moment. Hamilton would then strike him out and get a groundout to end the game.
