Crawford Breezes Into Sectional Final

Colonel Crawford took care of business in their tournament opener with a 60-25 victory over Lakota to earn a spot in the Division III Hopewell-Louden Sectional championship game.

The Eagles (20-3) extended their winning streak to 11-straight by flying out to an 18-9 first quarter advantage with Gavin Feichtner and Carter Valentine each raining a pair of triples. Feichtner added two more 3-pointers while scoring 10 points in the second as Crawford extended their lead to 38-12 over the Raiders by the half

Lakota (1-22) had their best run of play in the third, keeping up with the Eagles who only outscored them 12-11 in the quarter. A 10-2 fourth quarter stretch then iced a Crawford victory as they emptied their bench with the game well in hand.

Feichtner led all scorers with 16 points, all coming in the first half while Jordan Fenner and Valentine each added 10 with six points each being scored by Chase Walker and Mason Studer.

Jay Matz led the Raiders with eight points as Carter Reinhart and Cameron Burley each put up five.

#3 Colonel Crawford now advances to face the winner between Elmwood and Woodmore for the sectional title on Friday at Hopewell-Louden High School.
