State-ranked Colonel Crawford is headed back to the District Championship with a 4-2 victory over Genoa at the D3 Shelby Semifinals.

 

Following two scoreless innings to start the game, the top-seeded Eagles would get a deep blast from Carson Feichtner that brought both Micah Thomas and Cade Hamilton home for a 2-0 lead. Feichtner would later drive in Hamilton again with a standup double in the second, and would score on a Drayton Burkhart RBI single in the fifth to make it 4-0.

 

The Comets would cut the deficit in half in the top of the sixth, capitalizing on a throwing error for a pair of runs. That’s as close as Genoa would get, however, as Crawford closed out a victory for a spot in the D3 Shelby District Final.
