CLYDE --- The Clyde Fliers are heading to a Division 2 Sectional Championship after knocking off Clear Fork 4-1.

 

The #6 Fliers struck first in the bottom of the fourth loading the bases with one out when Kaiden Olson hit a sharp ground ball past the drawn-in infield to plate two. They added another run in the inning on a Mason Gurney RBI single making it 3-0.

 

Clyde then added another run in the fifth when Zach Hickman reached on an error. Brady Hickman then pinch ran and stole second then scored on a Trevor Philips RBI single making it 4-0.

 

The #7 Colts had a chance to break through first in the top of the second putting runners on the corners, but couldn't get on the board. They would finally break through in the top of the sixth when Luke Schlosser led the inning off with a double. Jared Scott then followed with an RBI double cutting into the lead at 4-1, but it would be the only run they would get as their final six batters would not reach.

 

Clyde advances to the Sectional Final where they will face #3 Huron at Huron with a spot in the District Semifinals on the line.
