CLEAR FORK vs MARION PLEASANT
Colts Comeback Downs Pleasant For MOAC Title
For a second consecutive season, Clear Fork has claimed the MOAC football championship by defeating perennial state power Marion Pleasant with a 16-14 come from behind victory.
A 24-yard field goal by Colts kicker Gabe Blauser would prove to be the difference as Clear Fork outscored the Spartans 9-0 in the 4th quarter to clinch the league title on senior night. It wasn’t all glory for Blauser though, who missed a game-tying extra point earlier in the frame following a 36-yard TD toss from Jared Schaefer to Trevon Trammell.
Clear Fork found themselves behind 14-7 at the half after Pleasant scored on the final play of the second quarter to hold a one-score advantage at the break, but the Colts defense would stand firm, holding the Spartans scoreless in the final two quarters to clinch a home playoff game with the win.
The Colts are now 9-0 and will have an opportunity for back to back undefeated regular seasons when they travel to Marion Harding (2-7) next Friday. The Spartans (7-2) end their regular season at home vs Ontario (3-6).
