Lexington Takes Season Opener At Colt Corral
Former league rivals Lexington and Clear Fork met in the valley to kick off the boys’ basketball regular season where the Minutemen shook off a slow start for a 66-49 victory.
The Colts were hot early in the contest as Brennan South scored the majority of his team-high 12 points in the first quarter, helping Clear Fork build a 17-13 edge after the opening frame. Lexington then surged on a 14-3 run and held a 30-22 halftime advantage by outscoring the Colts 17-5 in the second quarter then never looked back.
Cade Stover led the Minutemen charge with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Kyle Johnston added 12 pts and Josh Aiello had 10 with 5 rebs.
As a team Lexington finished 27-48 (56%) from the floor, outrebounding Clear Fork 34-22 and winning the turnover battle 9-7.
