Cavs Trade For Andre Drummond
The Cleveland Cavaliers made a surprise move before Thursday's NBA trade deadline by acquiring the league's leading rebounder from their Central Division rivals.
The Cavs received Andre Drummond from the Detroit Pistons, trading Brandon Knight, John Henson and a 2nd-round draft pick in 2023 for the 26-year-old center.
Drummond has led the NBA in rebounding three of the past four seasons and is enjoying one of his best years as a pro averaging a career-high 17.8 points per game while collecting 15.8 rebounds per contest. He has been selected as an All-Star twice since being drafted with the ninth overall pick in 2012 by Detroit.
Cleveland has the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 13-39 and is taking a gamble by trading for Drummond, who can opt-out of his contract for next season.
