CENTERBURG -- After leading by as many as 21 points, the Cardington Lady Pirates saw their lead shrink to just six in the final minutes, but hung on for the 51-37 win at Centerburg.

 

Cardington led 24-9 after the first quarter thanks to eight turnovers from Centerburg and five different players scoring. 

 

The Lady Trojans chipped away the rest of the game, but Cardington used a nine-point flurry in the the final 90 seconds to pull away for the victory.

 

Beth Hardwick led the scoring for the Lady Pirates with 14 points. Mikayla Linkous had 10.

 

For Centerburg, they were led offensively by Clara Johnson’s 12 points.
