Dogs Take 3rd Straight On Phillips Game-Winner

Following an 0-3 start, Crestline has now won four of their last five including three straight with a 56-53 victory inside the Cougars Den at Crestview High School.

An inspired effort by the home team saw the Cougars take a 17-10 lead into the second with all five starters getting in on the scoring action. The Bulldogs responded in the second, however, outdueling Crestview 18-12 in the frame with senior Kaden Ronk netting 10 of his game-high 18 points to make the halftime score 28-29.

Ronk's backcourt mate Trevor Phillips then poured in eight of his 18 in the third to give the Bulldogs a slim 42-41 advantage heading into the final stanza. Phillips later delivered the game-winning shot with just 2-seconds to go, drilling a corner triple to extend Crestline's winning streak.

The loss marks the eighth in a row for the 1-9 Cougars while the Bulldogs get to .500 at 4-4 overall.
