The Hamilton Badin Rams rolled past the Highland Fighting Scots for the Mason Region Championship 12-3. Things would start off hot for the Rams as they would score 3 runs on 2 hits and 2 runs. That however would just be a drop in the ocean compared to what they would do moving forward. 7 of the 9 batters for Badin would have at least one hit in this one and 3 Rams would have more then one hit. Most notably for the rams would be Sergio DeCello who would finish 2-4 from the dish, cross the plate 3 times and collect two RBIs as well. One of them being an absolute bomb of a home run to right field that would put the Rams up 8-1 after three innings of play. That wouldn't be the only moon shot we would see this afternoon as in the 6th Ryan Kirkendall would drive one deep to left field to add 3 more runs to the final score for the Rams 12-3. Highland would end up putting runs on the board in the bottom of the second on an RBI double. They would then put up two more on RBI singles in the bottom of the 4th and 5th. However they just could not keep up with the Rams who totaled 11 hits over the course of the game. When it was all said and done Badin would walk away with the win 12-3 over the Scots and a trip to Akron for a shot at the State Title.
