Ashland Wins 4th Straight, Clip Lex 65-52

LEXINGTON -- Ashland ran their winning streak to 4-straight with a 65-52 victory at Lexington where the youthful Minutemen played tough for more than three quarters.

 

Lexington (3-5) would jump out to an early 8-0 lead before Ashland (10-2) bounced back to even things up after one at 14-14. The teams went neck and neck during the 2nd period as Grayson Stuery and  LukeDenbow owned the perimeter for the Arrow's while Hudson Moore dominated in the paint with 18 points for the Minutemen.

 

Heading into the break, the two were only separated by a point at 29-28 before Ashland's D started to pick up in the second half with aggressive play in the passing lanes. Defensive takeaways would lead to multiple layups at the rim from Eli White and Steury, whom each finished with 14 points, as the Arrows built a slim 46-42 edge heading into the final frame.

 

The 4th quarter would belong to Ashland as they dominated during crunch time. The Arrows outdueled Lexington 19-10 over the final eight minutes with Denbow filling it up for a game-tops 20 points to keep their hot streak rolling into the weekend.
