Bostic Nets 4 Goals On Senior Night
As Arrows Slice Up Colts 7-0
The Ashland boy's soccer squad made the most of their senior night contest against former conference rival Clear Fork with a convincing 7-0 victory, led by seniors Bryan Bostic and Carson Hubler.
The Arrows entered the match with some positive momentum and seized control by taking a 1-0 lead just over 10 minutes into the game on the first of three first-half goals for Bostic. The standout striker would send two shots into Clear Fork's net less than 20 seconds apart, putting Ashland on top 3-0 at the 8:20 mark before Hubler added another goal just two minutes later for a 4-zip advantage.
Bostic later scored for the fourth time in the match to extend the Arrows lead to 5-nothing early in the second half, putting his season points total at 42. The Ashland lead would grow to 6-0 when junior Kayin McDonald drilled his first goal of the season with 14:26 remaining in the match. Then Hubler, who played in the field for the first time all year with a broken finger keeping him out of his usual starting keeper spot, put away his second goal with 7:26 left in the match to put some icing on a dominating victory.
Following a 2-3-3 start, Ashland (7-4-3) is now 5-1 in their last six matches with a goal differential of 34-7. The Arrows host Chillicothe on Saturday before welcoming Bowling Green on Tuesday for a D1 Sectional Semifinal.
Clear Fork (11-4-1) has now lost its last two matches by a combined 13-0 margin and travel to Ontario on Monday for a D2 Sectional Semifinal showdown.
