In the 97th meeting between Shelby and Willard, the Whippets destroyed their longtime rival in what could be the last meeting between the programs for some time. A 63-0 blowout of the Crimson Flashes gave Shelby their seventh straight win in the series and moving forward Willard has decided to drop the Whippets from their schedule.

Sophomore RB Owen Fisher racked up 164 yds & 2 TD’s on 16 carries while Tanner Stephens caught 3 passes for 51 yds and a score, and also intercepted a pass.

The Whippets defensive unit forced four turnovers, recovering a pair of fumbles and intercepting two throws and recorded four sacks on their way to their first shutout of the season.

Next up for Shelby (3-0) is a trip to Bellevue (0-3) while Willard (0-3) will travel to Lakota (2-1).
