Which high school football games have the most at stake

in terms of the playoff picture for Week 6

Week 6 of the High School Football season has arrived and while some teams are feeling comfortable at the moment, others are in need of wins to remain in the hunt.


Division 3, Region 10
#1 Mansfield Senior (5-0): @ Lexington (1-4) - The Tygers need to take care of business to remain in position to host a playoff game come week 11.


#11 Ashland (1-4): vs. Madison (0-5) - The Arrows kept its postseason hopes alive by upsetting undefeated Division 2 Mt. Vernon 42-27. They need to avoid an upset to the Rams to stay alive.


Division 4, Region 14
#1 Galion (5-0): vs. #9 Clear Fork (3-2) - The Tigers are the remaining undefeated squad in Region 14 and Ranked 7th in the latest AP poll. A win over the Colts would put them in a very good position heading into the home stretch. As for the Colts, they dropped a tough one at River Valley in week 5. They can get back into the top 8 and MOAC championship contention with a victory.


#7 Shelby (4-1): @ Marion Harding (2-3) - The Whippets rallied from an early deficit to defeat Pleasant in week 5 keeping them in playoff position. A victory over the Division 2 Presidents will go a long way in helping them climb towards the top 4.


Division 5, Region 18
#11 Wynford (3-2): vs. D6, R22 #2 Seneca East (6-0) - The Royals climbed back into contention after defeating rival Col. Crawford in week 5. A win over last year's state semifinalist would be another boost in the rankings.


Division 6, Region 22
#1 Northmor (5-0): vs. #5 East Knox (5-0) - The Golden Knights and Bulldogs meet in week 6 for what could be the KMAC championship. It also puts the winner into the drivers seat for a home playoff game come week 11.


#3 Hillsdale (5-0): @ Norwayne (1-4) - The Falcons got its second quality victory of the season in week 5 to remain in the top 4. They need to take care of business this week to avoid a large drop in the ratings.


#4 Western Reserve (4-1): @ D7, R25 #11 South Central (4-1) - The winner of this matchup not only stays in the Firelands Conference race, but they get a large amount of secondary playoff points.


#7 Colonel Crawford (3-2): @ D7, R 26 #14 Mohawk (2-3) - The Eagles had a setback against rival Wynford in week 5, but remained in the top 8. A victory over the Warriors would help keep them there.


#9 Crestview (3-2): vs. Monroeville (1-4) - The Cougars came close to upsetting Firelands favorite St. Paul and a spot in the top 8. They can remain in the hunt with a win over the Eagles.


#12 Bucyrus (2-3): vs. Buckeye Central (0-5) - The Redmen stayed alive in the hunt with a victory at Carey in week 5. They host the Bucks needing to avoid a letdown to remain in contention.


Division 7, Region 25
#5 Lucas (4-1): vs. Steubenville Catholic Central (3-2) - The Cubs posted its second-consecutive shutout defeating Division 5 Willard. A victory over the Crusdaers will help them move towards the top 4.


Division 7, Region 26
#11 Plymouth (3-2): @ New London (1-4) - The Big Red are coming off a tough last-second loss to Western Reserve in week 5. A victory along with some help from the teams above them could put them closer towards playoff position.


#15 Crestline (2-3): vs. #2 Leipsic (5-0) - The Bulldogs were shut out at Arlington in week 5, but have a big opportunity to gain ground with an upset of the Vikings in week 6.
