Playoff Points Up For Grabs

For Local School's In Week 5

With week 5 of the high school football season approaching the OH Report will be giving weekly updates
on how contending area teams sit in the playoff ratings and what they need to do in order to boost their
rating. With that being said, here's the first edition of the Playoff Watch.


OCC
The Mansfield Senior Tygers are 4-0 and ranked 2nd in the Division 3, Region 10 ratings. They have the
opportunity to boost their rating as they host 4-0 Sandusky (4th in D3, R10).
The 1-3 Lexington Minutemen sit tied for 14th in Division 3, Region 10 with a 1-3 record and have little to
no room for error the rest of the way, but we've seen them pull off a feat like this just last year. They have
a big opportunity to get playoff points as they travel to 1-3 Wooster, who can give them bonus points for
being in Division 2.


MOAC
The Galion Tigers are sitting pretty at 4-0 and ranked 3rd in the latest Division 4, Region 14 ratings. They have an opportunity to boost their numbers as they head to 2-2 Marion Harding (T-14th D2, R7) who is 2 divisions above them.
The 3-1 Clear Fork Colts grabbed a big victory coming back to defeat Bellevue 30-21 to move up to 5th
in the Division 4, Region 14 rankings. They go up a division to face 3-1 River Valley (9th D3, R10).
The 3-1 Shelby Whippets sit just outside the top 8 in Division 4, Region 14 and have a golden
opportunity to move up when they face 3-1 Pleasant (4th D5, R18) on Friday.
The 2-2 Ontario Warriors have work to do sitting in 19th in Division 4, Region 14. They have a tough test
against a 3-1 Norwalk squad (6th D3, R10) that was in last year's Division 3 state semifinals.


Northern 10
Seneca East is 4-0 and sits in 2nd in Division 6, Region 22. They host 2-2 Mohawk (11th D7, R26) with a chance to keep its standing in the top 4.
The 3-1 Colonel Crawford Eagles sit in 5th in Region 22 and host 2-2 Wynford (20th D5, R18), who
needs a victory in the rivalry game to get back into the playoff picture.


KMAC
The 4-0 Northmor Golden Knights sit atop the Division 6, Region 22 standings. They travel to rival Mt.
Gilead, who sit in 13th in Region 22 after snapping a 24-game losing streak with 2-straight victories.
The 4-0 East Knox Bulldogs sit in 4th in Region 22 and look to hold position as they host 1-3
Fredricktown.
The 2-2 Centerburg Trojans sit just outside the top 8 in 9th in Region 22 and will also look to keep
position when they host 0-4 Danville.


Firelands
The 4-0 St. Paul Flyers sit in 3rd in Division 7, Region 26 and travel to 3-1 Crestview (7th D6, R22), who
can boost its standing with a victory over the conference favorite.
The 3-1 Western Reserve Roughriders sit in 6th in Division 6, Region 22 and head to 3-1 Plymouth (8th
D7, R26) who can jump off the playoff bubble for now with a victory.
The 3-1 South Central Trojans sit in a tie for 6th in Division 7, Region 25 and head to 0-4 Mapleton
looking to avoid a letdown prior to a showdown with Western Reserve in week 6.


Independents
The 3-1 Lucas Cubs bounced back from a tough loss to Northmor to roll Troy Christian 43-0 and move
into 8th in Division 7, Region 25. They face 0-4 WIllard, but can still get bonus points for playing up 2
divisions.

The 2-2 Crestline Bulldogs avoided a 1-3 start by coming back to defeat North Baltimore moving them
into a tie for 13th in Division 7, Region 26. They head to 2-2 Arlington looking to move closer to the top 8.
