Warriors Win 16th Straight In 9-2 Victory Over Galion
The winning streak continues for the red-hot Ontario Warriors who remain undefeated in the state of Ohio this season after blitzing Galion 9-2 on Tuesday evening.
Ontario fell behind 1-zip in the top of the first but quickly regained the lead by plating a pair in the bottom half of the inning. The MOAC leading Warriors then posted five runs in the second, aided by four Galion errors, taking a commanding 7-1 edge and they never looked back.
Starter Jake Gleason went the distance allowing 2 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts, helping his own cause from the dish going 2-3 with 2 RBI, 2 runs, and a walk. Nolan Hatfield drove in 4 runs on 2 hits while Avery Fisher went 2-3 with a triple, scored 3 runs with an RBI and a walk.
The win marks 16 in a row for the Warriors following a 0-3 start in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the team feels as though they have much bigger feats to conquer on the horizon. Ontario (16-3, 10-0) will play the Tigers (12-7, 3-6) again on Tuesday at their place with an opportunity to claim a share of the MOAC championship with a victory.
